This course is aimed at anyone with basic electrical knowledge from industry, trade or other fields who wishes to systematically acquire in-depth knowledge of electrical engineering. Prerequisites include prior knowledge equivalent to the course 'Electrical Module 1: Fundamentals of Direct Current Technology'.
Since almost all electrical supply networks and most motors operate with alternating voltage, and fast data transmissions also behave electrically like alternating voltage, participants in this course will develop a thorough understanding of these phenomena. The instructors clearly explain how and why electronic components behave differently under alternating voltage than under direct voltage.
- Semiconductors with 2 layers: types, descriptions and use of diodes

- Semiconductors with 1 layer: non-linear resistors
- P-N junction as the basic effect of electronics
- Bipolar transistor and field-effect transistor
- Characteristic curves: creating and interpreting
- What are semiconductors and how do they work?
