The course teaches the most important fundamentals for working in the skilled trades – for those entering the profession or refreshing existing knowledge. Practical exercises support the direct transfer into everyday work.

Module: Compact (30 TU)

• Safe handling of tools and machinery
• Basic work processes
• Health and safety regulations
• Basic materials and working methods
• Industry-specific terminology

Module: Intensive (60 TU) – contents of the compact course, explored in greater depth and expanded to include:

• Planning work processes
• Selecting materials professionally
• Practical application of assembly, repair and processing techniques
• Expansion of technical terminology
• Additional practical phases and application-oriented exercises

The course takes place in person at the Technische Akademie Schwäbisch Gmünd.

Who can participate? Individuals employed in companies. Private individuals may also participate if they cover the costs themselves.

Funding: The participation fee is subsidised by 45% via the ‘Fachkurse’ funding programme of the European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus). Funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism Baden-Württemberg using funds from the European Union.
