Machine Metalworking with Needs Analysis and Individual Support

The Machine Metalworking Qualification Module is primarily aimed at individuals without a qualified, recognised vocational qualification and is designed to enable participants to undertake vocational retraining leading to a professional qualification. The qualification module lasts 3 to 5 months and comprises 522 to 810 teaching units. Flexible entry is possible at the times specified below. The course takes place in person.

Practical Skills

• General introduction to machine technology
• Operation, function, and maintenance of machine tools
• Clamping of workpieces and tools
• Tools: designation, forms, application, cutting angles, cutting data, tool life
• Applying turning, grinding, and milling machine techniques
• Selecting and using measuring and testing equipment
• Machining workpieces according to drawings
• Inspection of workpieces according to fit and tolerance specifications – occupational safety

Technical Theory

• Machine technology: structure, function, application area
• Machining processes, technical terms
• Clamping options, cutting forces – tools: cutting materials, cutting edge geometry
• Calculations: cutting speed, feed rate
• Chip formation, coolants and lubricants – thread types and fit systems
• Technical Drawing

Individual support for participants in the areas of

• Application training
• Social skills training with socio-pedagogical support

Individual needs analysis and language support
regarding German language support, technical metal terminology.
Identify and address weaknesses.

Individual academic support
in mathematics. Applying formulas, solving problems.
